Reporting directly to the Mechanical Shop Foreman, the Journeyperson Machinist is responsible for precision machining, line boring, component repair, and mechanical support for DF Barnes operations. This is a hands-on position combining conventional machine-shop work with field and vessel-based mechanical repairs. The successful candidate must have demonstrated marine repair experience and be capable of working aboard vessels alongside the mechanical team during maintenance, repair, overhaul, and refit activities. The position will primarily involve the setup and operation of conventional lathes and milling machines, along with portable line boring equipment for field and vessel repairs. The Journeyperson Machinist will manufacture, repair, modify, and refurbish components and provide mechanical support aboard vessels as required.
