DF Barnes Industrial is currently seeking qualified Journeyperson Welders and 3rd & 4th Year Registered Welding Apprentices to join our team for a scheduled industrial shutdown in Long Harbour, NL.

Requirements:

• Qualified to perform F3/F4 or F5/F6 welds
• Valid Fall Arrest certification
• Valid WHMIS certification
• Confined Space Entry certification is considered an asset

This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled maintenance team supporting a major industrial shutdown. Successful candidates will work in a safety-focused environment alongside experienced trades professionals, with significant overtime opportunities available throughout the outage.

Successful applicants may also be considered for future shutdowns and maintenance opportunities with DF Barnes Industrial.

Shutdown Schedule

• • Orientation / Mobilization: August 18–20, 2026
  • Site Walkdowns: August 24–27, 2026
  • Shutdown Execution: September 14 – October 16, 2026

Unionized role – Terms and conditions are in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement.

Travel and Living Out Allowance (LOA) are not provided.

Schedule

• • 12-hour day and night shifts available.
  • Planned rotation of one week on / one week off.
  • Significant overtime opportunities available throughout the shutdown.
  • Candidates who are available to work for the duration of the shutdown are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Any work performed on a scheduled day off will be paid at the applicable overtime rate in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
