Industrial Shutdown Trades (Journeyperson & Apprentices) – Long Harbour, NL

Pay: As per the Collective Agreement

DF Barnes Industrial is currently seeking qualified Journeypersons and 3rd & 4th Year Registered Apprentices to join our team for a scheduled industrial shutdown at Long Harbour, NL.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled maintenance team supporting a major industrial shutdown. Successful candidates will work in a safety-focused environment alongside experienced trades professionals, with significant overtime opportunities available throughout the outage.

Trades Required

We are currently accepting applications for:

• • Pipefitters
  • Millwrights
  • Welders
  • Instrumentation Technicians
  • Coatings Technicians (Blaster/Painters)
  • Scaffolders

Shutdown Schedule

• • Orientation / Mobilization: August 18–20, 2026
  • Site Walkdowns: August 24–27, 2026
  • Shutdown Execution: September 14 – October 16, 2026

Unionized role – Terms and conditions are in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement.

Travel and Living Out Allowance (LOA) are not provided.

Required Qualifications

• • Journeyperson Red Seal Certification in the applicable trade is preferred.
  • Applications from 3rd and 4th Year Registered Apprentices are encouraged and will be considered.
  • Previous industrial maintenance or shutdown experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.

Schedule

• • 12-hour day and night shifts available.
  • Planned rotation of one week on / one week off.
  • Significant overtime opportunities available throughout the shutdown.
  • Candidates who are available to work for the duration of the shutdown are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Any work performed on a scheduled day off will be paid at the applicable overtime rate in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
